Review : Les Portes de Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc

It’s been 90 degrees in L.A. for the past three days so it’s essentially summer time and although my love for red wine surpasses any seasonal change, sometimes it’s just too hot to drink a room temperature beverage. So for the next few weeks we’re going to be reviewing more white wines and rosés.

$6 from Trader Joe’s, a.k.a. the best place on Earth. A good Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect summer wine and an even better choice to help you along in your transition towards red wine. Hint hint.

Bright and crisp baby.

Sweet or dry

Dry, as it should be. Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite white wine and while this bottle is a little on the crisper side – it’s not bad. It is, however, missing the mineral qualities that most of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs have. But it’s $6 so no need to get persnickety.

I drank this while at a photo shoot. It was a pretty lively atmosphere and the wine boosted my mood a bit. Honestly, who’s really in a bad mood when there’s music playing and people are taking pictures of you dressed up? That’s why all those Instagram models are so happy all the time.

Enjoy it

The good thing about Sauvignon Blanc, at least in my humble opinion, is that it’s kinda Earthy. What does that mean you ask? It means you won’t get juicy lush vibes, but rather crisp and green vibes. Those characteristics make it a great wine to drink outside. On a nice summer day pull this bottle out of the fridge, take it outside and enjoy the day!
